Old store front along Washington Blvd, Arlington, Va., 4:18 p.m., October 3, 2020.
The images in this entry were taken on my walk yesterday from Ballston in Arlington back to D.C. -- in this case, in the Arlington part of the walk.
I'm in the process of putting together a large entry that I should have completed tonight. While it is Covid / political in nature, it also includes a big batch of pictures from my recent Southern California Pacific coast trip.
In the meantime, I would like to feature this tweet by Raheem Kassam, Editor in Chief of The National Pulse, that considers the latest mainstream whore media poll showing and concluding the following: BIDEN UP 14 POINTS OVER TRUMP! BIDEN SURGING! AMERICANS TURNING ON TRUMP IN DROVES!! TRUMP COLLAPSE FOLLOWS DEBATE CATASTROPHE AND COVID SUPERSPREADER EVENT!!!
I refer to the NBC News / Wall Street Journal poll showing Biden at a +14 point lead over Trump, 53 to 39. The poll of registered voters oversamples Dems by +8 points -- up from +3 point oversampling in the last NBC News / Wall Street Journal poll -- and then declares this entire 5 point shift represents a MAGNIFICIENT Biden surge.
What's more, it's a survey of registered rather than likely voters -- and with no idea of where those voters are living (for all we know, all 800 are in California and New York). In short, this couldn't be a more flamboyantly fraudulent poll designed to produce a specific result.
Here is another article that Mr. Kassam wrote on this topic [link embedded]: Poll That DOESN’T Weight In Favor Of Dems Shows Trump Leading Nationally.
Updated 12:20 a.m., 10/6/2020
Breitbart featured this article giving more details how this poll's party affiliation breakdown differs from the most recent Gallup party affiliation poll. The upshot is it gives a 7-point spread to the Dems that is completely fictitious given the current bitterly divided political climate.
End of Update.
To be clear, I am NOT saying that Trump is a shoo-in for reelection. In fact, he may very well (narrowly) lose after a bitterly contested, all-around clusterfuck of an election that includes Democrat Party-sponsored civil unrest and multiple legal challenges -- and possibly even a resolution in Congress.
What I am saying, as Mr. Kassam says in his tweet, is that polling in the present era is as much a psychological operation (PSYOP) aimed at voter suppression than it is a Nate Silver-rarified objective, quantitative science.
OK, I need to go. I'm meeting Andrea this afternoon in Alexandria. My intention is to post the aforementioned entry tonight.
