A Wee Hours Saturday Morning Interim Post: Pinwheeling Into Memorial Day Weekend Entry

OK, I spent a fair amount of time composing a new blog entry -- an astronomy / cosmology-themed one that, if I may say so, I think is quite interesting.

However, as usually happens, the entry's complexity and scope got away from me, and I just wasn't able to finish it tonight. Instead, I'll finish it tomorrow night, which is my plan while watching the MeTV Super Sci-Fi Saturday night line up.

Somehow, that seems appropriate.

We're at the start of the Memorial Day holiday weekend -- even in this time of COVID-19 with all these amorphous and open-ended shutdowns that are beginning to wind down even though, basically, nothing has been resolved in terms of the "pandemic" or whatever it is.

The one (very) good thing that MIGHT come from this situation -- to include our flash economic depression -- is that it COULD very well doom the Trump kakistocracy's diseased reelection and its supporting GOP cult. At 5-1/4 months out, the signs are hopeful.

For tomorrow, I'm supposed to meet Andrea for a walk here in D.C. On Monday, Aydin and I are tentatively planning to go down to Old Town Alexandria. I'm unsure about Sunday, although there is the Sunday night dinner party and 'Allo, 'Allo! viewing soiree at Fred and Doug's place with myself and Aydin.

Washington Monument on a misty-showery, humid day, 1:49 p.m., May 22, 2020

I walked both to and from L'Enfant Plaza to my office today.

It's raining lightly outside on a humid, mild-to-warmish night (air temp 66°F / dew point 64°F at the 3 a.m. hour). This follows a showery, drizzly, humid morning and early afternoon and mostly cloudy late afternoon / evening.

A tally on the station observation webpages indicate the following amounts of rain have fallen in the past 24 hours:

KDCA: 0.86"
KNAK: 0.69"
KIAD: 0.63"
KBWI: 0.37"
KDMH: 0.33"

Warm, humid weather is forecasted this weekend.

OK, that's all for now. Again, I'll try to finish my other draft entry tomorrow night.
