Today -- Sunday, October 7th, 2018 -- was an interesting day.
For starters, I didn't get out of bed until basically 3 pm. This followed a shitty Friday in which I took off half a day to spend it with my mom on a one-night visit (from suburban Maryland) into D.C., and had hoped to have a nice time but ultimately, it was crap. Like everything. It just set me back about $200.
Then yesterday (Saturday) came and I got up ultra-late and met Mike G., but that ended up quite a lovely evening -- again, back in Georgetown, but this time, not at Martin's but rather at Sovereign. However, we again ended up at Washington Harbour in a warm, humid, overcast evening. Later, after riding back home with him, I went to Annie's for a bit.
As for today, well, I went to Kapnos at W and 14th St NW and had a pleasant dinner and a couple drinks while having a chat with a trio of people who came into the bar on their way to the sushi restaurant across the street (Sakerum) and then to a Phil Collins concert at what used to be called Verizon Center (now the Capital One Arena).
A bit later, I went to Fred and Doug's place and we watched three episodes of 'Allo 'Allo! We are now up to season 5. God, that show is frickin' hilarious. Finally, I went to Exlax, I mean, Exiles -- the old Stetson's, last place that Jenna Bush ever got busted for underage drinking -- and now I'm home.
For tomorrow -- Columbus Day, a.k.a., Indigenous Peoples Day -- I have off. My plan is to get up early (which, for me, means about 1030 am) and either head up to Bethesda and have lunch and walk back into D.C. via the Capital Crescent Trail OR go to Old Town Alexandria, have lunch (maybe bug Tim a bit about seeing him), and then walk up the Mt Vernon bike trail and be home in time for the MeTV weeknight line up.
OK, I'm signing off for now.
