Friday Night Featureless Forum & Barnes Dance -OR- E[DC(t →∞)] ≠ E[CNMI(t=:-)]

1400 block W Street NW, Washington, D.C., 11:25 a.m. June 15, 2018.

I worked from home for two hours this morning and then went to the gym (and after going last night) -- but only to shower as my bathroom was scheduled to be painted today and I had to clear out everything.

This is just a brief update ahead of my weekend to note a few things.

First, I am in a bit of a tight spot at work in that I REALLY need to finish and get over to DOE a series of monitoring reports that is part of a series of ongoing financial monitoring reports that I compose.

The intersection of H and 7th Streets NW, Chinatown, Washington, D.C., 7:12 p.m. June 6, 2018.

There is a diagonal crossing (crosswalk) here -- a.k.a., a pedestrian scramble, an "X" crossing, or a "Barnes Dance" -- at this intersection. We need more of these types of crossings for pedestrians in urban areas.

This ongoing work task -- which comes in rounds -- allows me to interact by email and on the phone with a particular type of office in each of the U.S. states and territories) by the end of the month. (It's fun trying to arrange times to talk on the phone with folks in American Samoa and even more so in Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands.)

Overlook of Bird Island near the northern edge of Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands.

I didn't lead the entry with this picture since, well, this is not my life and world. My life is one of being stuck here in D.C. indefinitely.

That being the case, my plan is to work on the current report Saturday night (or in the wee hours of Sunday morning) while watching the MeTV line up.

Anyway, my point is, blogging over the next two weeks may have to take a bit of a backseat, although I'll still post entries every few days (which is more or less what I do now).

Oh, I saw this headline on my Edge browser news feed …

Wow. She really lives in her own reality, doesn't she?

Story here. If you're coming in late (or many years have passed), backstory here.

Secondly, for tonight, I'll meet Fred upstairs at Annie's (the ONLY time I ever go near that part of awful 17th Street anymore) and then go to Trade and No. 9, as is my Friday night wont. For tomorrow, it's the usual gym and then nighttime laundry/dinner/MeTV watching and posting at least a Jukebox Saturday Night edition. But, as noted, I also need to work on aforementioned report.

Sunday is my free day.

The weather -- which was excessively brilliantly sunny and rather warm (but not hot) today with highs of 82F to 84F and dry for the time of year with dew points of only about 50F -- is forecasted to turn hot and humid.

Calvary Baptist Church in Chinatown, Washington, D.C., 7:14 p.m. June 6, 2018.

Sunday is forecasted to reach 92F and Monday around 97F with high dew points. A chance of showers and thunderstorms don't kick in next week until mid-to-late week.

OK, that's all for now. Apologies for lack of a more complete entry or at least a Friday Night Creature Feature edition.
