As tribute to this week's nor'easter and its big wind storm, it seems appropriate to begin with this lovely piece ...
"Free as the Wind" by Paul Hardcastle's The Jazzmasters series, from his Jazzmasters V release (2006)
Next up, a nice Big Band piece (even if from the very tail end of that never-to-be-repeated time) ...
"You're My Everything" by Tommy Dorsey and His Orchestra (1954)
This piece features Tommy's brother Jimmy, both Big Band era leaders. Bryan Wright featured this piece in his most recent Shellac Stack program.
And we will end with something suitably Saturday night upbeat -- and very appropriate for aforementioned nor'easter and big wind storm:
"Windy" by The Association from the group's album Insight Out (1967)
I've always loved this song. So happy and upbeat.
OK, that's all for now. Please see my previous entry for Saturday Evening Post with overview of the week's nor'easter.
My next planned update will be late Monday or early Tuesday.
