Jukebox Saturday Night for Aug. 13th, 2016: Bossa Réal and Summer Madness Edition

Given that the Rio 2016 Summer Olympic games are in full swing, this nice Kenny G piece seems only appropriate ...

"Bossa Réal" by Kenny G from his Brazilian Nights release (2015)

By the way, speaking of the Rio games, I'm interested in the font being used to spell "Rio 2016" ...

Let's not forget that it's technically the depths of wintertime in Rio de Janeiro right now (Southern Hemisphere and all that).

For the next two pieces, I decided to give a nod -- of a sorts -- to this frickin' hot and humid summer...

"Summer Madness" by Kool & the Gang from the group's Light of the Worlds album (1974)

This is an amazing and seminal funk/jazz fusion piece that can be appreciated over and over. This particular one is the shorter version.

"Blame it on the Summer" by Basia from her It's That Girl Again release (2009)

OK, that's all for now. Please see my preceding entry for an update. My next planned entry will be late Monday or early Tuesday.
