As a follow-up to my jukebox Saturday night entry from two weeks ago commemorating New Horizons' flyby of Pluto -- and, no, I have not forgotten to post the subsequent images that our brave and wonderful little space probe so far from home has sent and continues to send back -- here is a really lovely piece ...
"Jupiter: The Bringer of Jollity" by Gustav Holst from his The Planets: Opus 32 (1914)
This was performed by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra as conducted by James Levine.
This jukebox Saturday night entry is being composed on the small, old little notebook computer that Andrea gave me. The operating system is a bit old and Internet Explorer way out of date, but I am instead using Google Chrome.
YouTube is NOT blocked by Barracuda on this computer.
"The Things We Do For Love" by 10cc from the group's Deceptive Bends album (1977)*
*This song may have been released first as a single in 1976.
I took a 7 to 8 mile walk today with Dave J. through the really nice upper reaches of D.C. -- from Friendship Heights to Spring Valley to Palisades to Georgetown and back to Dupont Circle. We stopped at three different places including dinner at Paper Moon in Georgetown. We sat at the bar and "Red" waited on us.
I will try to post an entry about this tomorrow.
Oh, yes, my left hand -- whose injury I discussed in my previous entry -- is starting to feel better (after swelling up noticeably today). However, I will not be taking a bike ride tomorrow.
As for tonight, I guess I'll go to No. 9.
Now let's end with something sort of fun ...
"All You're Waiting For" by Classixx ft. Nancy Whang from their Hanging Gardens release (2013)
Watch the video.
I last featured the interesting Classixx duo in this jukebox Saturday night entry in their wonderful Holding On song and video.
OK, that's all for now.
