Jukebox Saturday Night Entry - October 5th, 2013 "Not Shutdown (Yet)" Edition

Updated 1/31/2016: I had to replace two of the embedded YouTube videos (first and second ones).

(OK, let's try this again. The loss of my optical mouse has really screwed up my blogging abilities and just caused my virtually complete entry to vanish -- all because I can't use the flippin' touch pad very well.)

"Proof" by Keiko Matsui from her just issued Soul Quest release (2013)

Quite sublime.

*******

"Lenox Avenue Blues" by the great Fats Waller (c. 1926)

The volume is a little low on this one, but I love the church organ. Indeed, this is sometimes called the "Church Organ Blues."

*******

And now for something more Saturday night upbeat...

"Pretty Girl Rock" by Keri Hilson from her No Boys Allowed release (2010)

Ms. Hilson pays tribute to a number of iconic American female performers of the 20th and early 21st Century, gliding easily through the period costumes while singing smoothly, confidently, and ably. All in all, a fun and enjoyable video.

*******

OK, that's all for now. My next planned update will be either Monday or Tuesday night.
