Morning window washer as seen from my office near L'Enfant Plaza nearly 10 stories up, Washington, D.C., 9:56AM, Oct. 12, 2010.
Remarkable acrobatics -- and nerve-wracking to watch -- with Spiderman-like suction device, harnesses, rappelling from one window to the next, and a massive squeegee that cleaned the entire outer glazing in seconds. And all for, what?, $12 an hour? And no health insurance, I presume, though if he fell, he wouldn't need it.
*This is technically entry #400, although with one entry in semi-permanent draft mode, it appears as published entry #399.
Sorry for the lack of updates -- this has been an unusually busy week at work and just hectic overall. I haven't had time to update the blog.
I'm actually home at this 10AM hour as I finished a report that was due this morning. I'll get ready and go into work now, though as I worked since 545AM and only had 4 hours of sleep. I may leave early.
We had a good 1-1/4 inches of rain yesterday. Good.
