Interim Update: Back from Brief Jersey Shore Vacation (and Still Desperately Wanting to Sail Away from D.C.)

I'm back from my all-too-brief South Jersey shore vacation and I have up to 60 pictures to post, though it will actually probably be closer to 40.

However, I am much too tired tonight at this 323AM hour as I write this to post anything but a brief entry now. I updated instead my Arcturus / Mr. Sirius blog instead, even though that's a bigger waste.

Yours truly seated on a beach chair at the edge of the gurgling surf on a lovely summer day, Wildwood Crest, N.J., 3:47PM, Aug. 18, 2009 shortly after swimming in the ocean.

#######

Let me just say that I am in a terrible frame of mind -- as I have been for months now and it is getting worse -- as I ponder all the things that may happen in the next two months and beyond if (as is quite likely) I do not find meaningful employment.

A lady rides a bicycle as we (LP, Gary, and I) drove past the colorful house at 18 Stockton Place, Cape May, N.J., 11:28AM, Aug. 18, 2009. Cape May has a large number of stunning Victorian houses, and I have pictures to post of them in my next entry, but I especially liked the intense golden-yellow off-primary color of this home.

In lieu of an entry right now, here is a YouTube clip of the Pet Shop Boys doing a splendid ballad rendition of the late Sir Noël Coward's Sail Away. LP had this compilation of his songs on a CD from about 5 years ago featuring famous contemporary artists from the Pet Shop Boys to Robbie Williams singing his songs. Sail Away was one of them.

The song starts around 0:57. I love the music and the lyrics are poetic -- and really speak to me.

I will try to have a full entry with the South Jersey shore photos posted by late Wednesday or Thursday.
