A Smiley Faced Heavenly Conjunction

The "smiley face" conjunction of Venus, Jupiter, and the crescent Moon ...

... as seen from the Mount Wilson Observatory on Nov. 30, 2008 after sunset with the far-flung Los Angeles area sprawled across the miles below, lightly veiled by mist, fog, and some pollution, too, I suppose.

Oh, Flippo, my baby hippo, you're so good, so sweet, so complete, so right, so exquisite, so delightful, so sagacious, so beyond a mere adumbration but rather source of hippo light, indeed, so near to the divine, angelic, agape itself ... so, so, so very PLUSH.

Oh, hippo.

I plan to post some Christmas carols over the next few weeks, including those with some altered lyrics.

What follows, though, is the video / song All I Want for Christmas Is You from 1994 -- it's the ONLY reason I ever liked Mariah Carey.

All I Want For Christmas Is You Mariah Carey

I think I posted the lyrics on my Arcturus blog (which I need to update) last year and dedicated them to Mr. Sirius. This year, I'll just dedicate to, well, nobody.

Another view of the "smiley face" conjunction (I know it's kind of hard to see in this image) of Venus, Jupiter, and the crescent Moon from Dec. 1, 2008, this one as seen along the coast of New South Wales in Australia near "Brisbane Water" not far from Sydney ...

My blogger friend Fifi lives near there.

I'll have a better entry up Friday or Saturday.
