Astronomical autumn begins on Monday, Sept. 22, 2008 in the Northern Hemisphere.
That means in the Wash. D.C. area another month or two or three of warmish, blah weather where NOTHING happens and the promise and joy of a cool and lovely fall day of the sort I so like is seldom realized.
While the trees turn pretty colors, the feeling is rarely like that captured in this New England autumn country road setting, if only because there really is no promise of bright winter mornings and snowy nights ahead.
It's just the usual "well above normal ... will remove chance of precip ... no snow ... all the energy passing to our N/E/S/W ... blah ... blah ... blah ..."
Just another reason to want, to need, to leave D.C. forever.
But I don't want to be negative on this entry, so I'll end it right now. I'll have a new entry up over the weekend. It was kind of a crappy week. I couldn't think of anything to write tonight and now I have to go to bed.
